BPA partnered with The Lewin Group to conduct focus group research in the state of Washington funded by the US Department of Health and Human Services, Office of the Assistant Secretary of Planning and Evaluation. BPA produced a summary and analysis of focus group discussion on (1) health care coverage and employment, (2) Social Security Disability Insurance and Supplemental Security Income benefits and employment (including work disincentives/work incentives), and (3) use of and access to health care services, including community-based mental health programs. This report is used by the Washington State Institute for Public Policy in its analysis for the State of Washington of the costs of implementing a Medicaid Buy-In Option for Washington residents with disabilities.
