Frances M. Laskey, Director of Human Resources and IT Manager

Frances Laskey has been with BPA since 1991 and performs a variety of day-to-day corporate management roles. She is interested in workforce development issues, employment law, and human resources practice, especially as they pertain to small business. She is also interested in employee-ownership and has given presentations on the local and national level on management issues in employee-owned companies. In addition to management responsibilities, Frances participates in BPA's projects and sales efforts as an editor and proofreader, and coordinates cost proposal development.
In September 2008, Frances entered the graduate program in English at Mills College, and after combining her BPA responsibilities with those of a full-time graduate student for two years, was awarded her M.A. in English Literature in May 2010. She will be co-teaching two literature courses at Mills in fall 2010.
Current Management Responsibilities:
- Human Resources (recruiting and hiring; performance management; labor law compliance; training coordination)
- Benefits planning and management, including BPA’s Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), 401k, and Section 125 Cafeteria Benefits Plan
- IT Management (network administration, desktop troubleshooting and maintenance; system planning/upgrades)
